Franklin Njie Appointed GM of CDC

Until Wednesday, December 19 2012, Franklin Ngoni IkomeNjie was the Interim General Manager of the Cameroon Development Corporation, CDC.

On the CRTV National Station’s 8PM newscast of Wednesday, December 19 2012, a Presidential Decree, signed Paul Biya appointed Njie the GM of CDC.

He takes over from Henry Njalla Quan who died Thursday, December 13 2012 after a protracted illness in his Down Beach Residence in Limbe, Southwest Region.

Njalla Quan came in as the GM of CDC in 1998 until June 8 2012 when Njie was designated Acting GM.

Before Njie was nominated the Acting GM of CDC by the institution’s Board of Directors on June 8 2012, he was the Director of Technical Services from March 2002 to June 2012

From 1998 to March 2002, he served as Civil Works Services Manager in the Department of Technical Services, CDC.

Trained as an Engineer, from December 1996 to August 1998, he occupied the position of Civil Engineer in the Department of Technical Services.

Before Njie joined the CDC, from February 1995 to December 1996, he was an attached Engineer with Planungsburo Figge in Castrop – Rauxel in Germany.

Still in Germany, he was Engineer, attached to the infrastructure department of Schafer Consult, a civil engineering consulting company in Gross – Rohrheim from March 1992 to March 1994.

This German trained Civil Engineer did his primary education at the Cameroon Baptist Convention School in Great Soppo, moved over to Limbe for his secondary school at Government Secondary School, Victoria, now Limbe, where he obtained the Ordinary Level Certificate and CCAST Bambili for the high school. After his brilliant performance at the Advanced Level, he was offered scholarship by the government of Cameroon to study Civil Engineering in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The new CDC GM was born April 4 1964 in  Bokwai-Buea to Emmanuel Ikome Njie (Deceased) and Sophie Efeti Njie, both of Bokwai-Buea.

He is married to Dr. Constance Enanga Njie nee Lifongo

Njie is a Christian and an Appointed Deacon of Nazareth Baptist Church, Tiko.

Njie now steps in as the fourth GM of CDC after John Neba Ngu, deceased, Peter Mafany Musonge and Henry Njalla Quan.
