The members of The Gideons International, Buea Chapter, have indicated that there is no boundary for Christ’s message to the world. Determined to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to all, the Gideons International, Friday, May 2 2014 carried out free distribution of the New Testament Bibles to the staff and students of the National School of Penitentiary Administration, ENAP, Buea.

Valentin Makomra of The Gideons International said their motive is to promote God’s word to all people. “Being aware of the moral decadence, in our society and what we see in our prison centres, we trust that through the distribution of these Holy Scriptures to would be workers in the prisons and those already working, it will help to raise their spiritual standards,” he noted.

He will be corroborated by Franklin Fidelis Fuh, the Buea Chapter Chair of The Gideons International who explained that Christians must get out of sin and look forward to spend eternity with God. “We are presenting Jesus Christ through his words. We will not love to see a perishing world. The world is too beautiful to be destroyed and brought to darkness and Satan. We are in a beautiful world, created by a beautiful God. Let’s enjoy the benefits of God because we have been redeemed from sin. We should shun evil,

wickedness, witchcraft and all kinds of malpractices,” he cautioned. “Our wish is for people to be saved and come to know God almighty via Jesus Christ,” he added.

Fuh promised that they will be back to ENAP to hold Bible conferences with the students and the management so that the message of God is entrenched in the institution. “God’s words must transform us and do away with embezzlement, corruption, killing, doing drugs, drunkenness, rape and others. It is wrong. That is not the kind of society we want to see and what God wants,” he said.

Prison Superintendent at ENAP, Merlin Yangmo expressed delight with the gesture from The Gideons International, saying the training of Warders must go with a strong sense of spirituality following the quality of training they receive from the school. “We train our students to manage people, who largely believe that all is ended for them. So, having a mastery of their Bible will help them better manage deviants and other wayward members of the society. Let our students read their Bibles religiously and we look forward to welcome members of The Gideons International for more conferences on the Bible.”

Lovett Benyela Fonkusam and Claudette Fomunyui Berinyui, all, students administrators at ENAP expressed joy with members of The Gideons International, noting that the Bibles will reinforce their spiritual life and make their faith in God stronger.
