Cameroon: Stephane Mbia Scores A Brace!

Stephane Etoundi Mbia’s Spanish La Liga club, FC Seville over the weekend bashed Deportivo De La Coruna of same league 4 – 1. Two of the goals were scored by the captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon. It was Day 7 matches of the Spanish La Liga, 2014/2015 football season.

FC Seville was playing at home in the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Stadium, hosting some 31,000 spectators. Mbia opened scores at the 24th minute of play. Coming from the dressing room for the second segment of the game, the Lions’ skipper netted the third goal for FC Seville at the 57th minute. This is the 3rd goal the Cameroonian has scored for the season.

In the 2007/2008 football season in France, Mbia at Stade Rennais scored 3 goals in 25 matches. Last season in FC Seville, the new captain of the Lions once more scored 3 goals in 18 matches. He has never gone more than 3.

Now, with the new season just opening, with 7 matches, Mbia has already scored 3 goals. Will he score more goals this season at the club level? Let’s wait and see!!

In a related development, Mbia and the other 25 players invited by the coach of Cameroon, Volker Finke, to be part of the AFCON 2015 qualifiers against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone were expected to begin arriving in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Monday, October 6 2014.
