The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are back in the international scene in big style and with panache. Like in Lubumbashi, the DRC on Saturday, September 6 2014, where the Lions stunned the Leopards 2-0, with goal scorers being Clinton Njie of Olympique Lyonnais in France and Vincent Aboubakar of FC Porto, Portugal, same atmosphere prevailed in Yaoundé, Wednesday, September 10 2014.

At the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon walloped their Ivorian counterparts, the Elephants, 4-1 in a splendid football game. Again, Cameroonian strikers, Clinton Njie opened scores in the 20th minute of the game. The Ivorians will equalise 7 minutes later with emblematic midfielder, Yaya Toure, who plies his football trade in Manchester City in the Barclay Football League in England. Before the first 45 minutes will elapse, Vincent Aboubakar of Cameroon netted the second goal, putting the Lions on the lead.

A spirited Vincent Aboubakar  mesmerised the Ivorian defence mechanism to slot in the third goal for Cameroon. He will be joined by his co-attacker, Clinton Njie, who received a smooth pass from Aboubakar, to successfully chest-the-ball, had a good control and subsequently unleashed a bullet that went pass Ivorian keeper, Copa Barry, for Cameroon’s fourth goal. It will be fiesta in the Ahamadou Ahidjo Stadium and across Cameroon, as a nation celebrated a newfound Lions’ squad, under Mr Volker Finke of German nationality. In the family home of Clinton Njie in Small Soppo, Buea, the mother is overwhelmed with joy and fans coming in their numbers to share in her joy and of course, beer ago go flowing like manna from Heaven.

Now Cameroon tops Group D with 6 points, followed by DRC with 3 points after they beat Sierra-Leone in Lubumbashi Wednesday, September 10 2014, 2-0. Ivory Coast is in third position with 3 points and Sierra Leone no point.
