Some victims of the fire were Touristic Bar, Mega Big Brother supper market, “LUK NEF” computer training center and library. Eye witnesses report that the fire resulted from a generator which was placed in a warehouse of the said building.

They told iCameroon.com that after a series of inconsistent electricity supply from AES SONEL, the generator caught fire. A nearby call box operator says at about 3pm, thick smoke rose from within the building. Before the population could realize, the building was ablaze. Firemen arrived but it was too late. The fire had taken over most of the building.

Some blamed on the inconsistent power supply of AES SONEL while others blame on the negligence of those who run the generator. At this point, the blames do not matter for the victims are at lost.
