Mgr. Immanuel Banlanjo Bushu, Bishop of Buea Diocese, has made public the first appointments and transfers of priests and lay persons for the pastoral year 2013.
According to the Diocesan Decision signed Friday, July 5 2013, there are appointments and transfers in the Bishop’s House Small Soppo, the parishes, the Education Secretariat, colleges, chaplains, John Paul II Institute of Theology, JOPASIT, University Institute of the Diocese of Buea, UIDB, priests on study leave and priests serving out of Buea Diocese.

At the Bishop’s House in Small Soppo, Fr. Bernard Asek moves from UIDB Campus Ministry to Chancellor, Bishop’s House. He will cumulatively serve as Associate, UIDB Campus Ministry. From Bekora Parish Fr. Joseph Suh Ganong will serve cumulatively as interim Diocesan Pastoral Coordinator and Diocesan Project Coordinator. Fr. Engelbert Ofon from Nyandong is the interim Diocesan Health Coordinator and Chaplain, while also serving as UIDB’s Director of Examinations and Records and interim Director of JOPASIT. Patrick Chimtom is the Diocesan Health Adviser.
Fr. Wilson Ngema, Parish Priest of Bomaka moves on as Director of the Catholic Information Service. He will be assisted by Fr. Stephen Nnorom of the Holy Ghost Institute of Theology, Enugu, Nigeria, who will simultaneously serve as Curate of Ekona Parish. Sr. Hortensia Verye is the Financial Personnel for schools and colleges.
To the parishes, Fr. Evaristus Nkede leaves the Chancellery to Bomaka as Parish Priest. From the Diocesan Pastoral Office, Fr. Edward Ngalame moves to Fiango, Kumba as Parish Priest. His Curate is Fr. Eric Akongnie, formerly chaplain of Christ The King College, CKC, Tiko. Fr. Lawrence Ofon, formerly of Fiango is now the Parish Priest of Likomba, Tiko Subdivision. Fr. Aloysius Ndifor leaves Likomba as Parish Priest to the same function in Baseng. Fr. Victor Ndiforzu, erstwhile chaplain of Mt. Carmel College, Muea, is now the Parish Priest of Ikassa. The Missionaries of St.Paul, from Nigeria take control of Ekondo Titi Parish. From Tiko, Fr. Martin Chi leaves for Bekora as Parish Priest, while Fr. James Chikezie from Kumba Mbeng Parish is now the Parish Priest of Bafia Parish in Muyuka Subdivision. Fr. Hilary Ngome leaves Baseng to be Parish Priest of Bonadikombo Mile 4, Limbe. The 3/Corners Fiango Parish will be managed by missionaries yet to be defined by the Bishop of Buea. On his part Fr. Raphael Ebune from Muyuka is the Parish Priest of Ngolobolo.
Fr. John Mbanorr, Missionaries of St. Paul from Nigeria takes over St. Martin de Porres Parish, Bokwaongo, Buea, as Parish Priest. He takes over from Fr. Kingsley Innocent Odiaka of same missionary, formerly the administrator of the parish. Fr. Stephen Bamisaye of same missionary joins Fr. Mbanorr as Curate and chaplain of Bishop Jules Peters Memorial College, Bokwaongo.
The Catholic Christians of French language expression in Kumba municipality will be managed by Holy Spirit Missionaries from Yaoundé. The former chaplain of Bishop Rogan Minor Seminary, Small Soppo, Buea, Fr. Emmanuel Chemo is now the Parish Priest of Nyandong.
Also serving as Curates are; Fr. Tobias Bekong now in Muyuka Parish from Bota, Limbe. He will also be the chaplain of Our Lady of Grace College, Muyuka. Fr. Anthony Uda from Mutengene Parish to Bota, Fr. Moses Njoh, from STAMS Bambui, to Mutengene Parish, also serving as chaplain for Regina Pacis College, Mutengene, while Fr. Eric Gami is in Kumba Mbeng Parish, concurrently as the Diocesan Youth Chaplain. Fr. Ernest Nebangongjoh from Isangele to CKC, Tiko. From STAMS, Bambui, Fr. Nicholas Nanji, to Tiko Parish. From Bertoua Major Seminary, Fr. Valentine Ambe moves to Kumba Town Parish, while serving as chaplain of St. John College, Kumba. Fr. Raymond Esuke Ekosse still from STAMS, Bambui moves to Isangele Parish.
In the education secretariat, Maureen Nkafu is the Assistant Education Secretary for Secondary Schools and Oscar Bessong Atem, Assistant Education Secretary for Primary Schools.
In the colleges, Fr. Felix Nkafu is the new principal of St. Francis College, Fiango, Kumba. Fr. Jacob Ntoko is the Principal of Regina Coeli College, Tombel, formerly in Fiango Parish. Fr. Henry Tutuwan leaves St. Paul College, Bonjongo as principal to same position in Regina Pacis College, Mutengene. Same scenario for Fr. Valentine Suum, who leaves St. Francis College, Fiango, Kumba to St. Paul College, Bonjongo as principal. Erstwhile principal of Our Lady of Grace College, Muyuka, Fr. Patrick Malange is now the principal of St. John Bosco Teachers Training College, Buea. Sr. Elizabeth Mbinkar of St. John College, Kumba takes over as principal of CKC, Tiko. Still from St. Francis College, Fiango, Kumba, Fr. Edwin Nsing Seh moves on as principal of Our Lady of Grace Secondary School, Muyuka.
The new chaplains are; Fr. Charles Ajebe Sone in St. Francis College, Fiango, Fr. Emmanuel Ndode in St. Joseph College, Sasse, Fr. Blessed Ambang, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Muea and Fr. Michael Agbecha is the Spiritual Director of Bishop Rogan Minor Seminary.
In UIDB, Fr. Elias Mengjo is the Parish Priest and Director of Pastoral Campus Ministry. The Director of Institutional Advancement and Development is Fr. Cajetan Ejolle, while Fr. George Ngalame is an Associate in Campus Ministry. Sr. Elizabeth Sife is the Coordinator of St. Martha, UIDB CERI Restaurant.
Priests on study leave at the Catholic University of Central Africa, Yaoundé include; Frs. Linus Patem, Aloysius Fondong and Amstrong Ndi. Those in Rome, Italy are; Frs. Martin Njikang, Basile Sede and Raphael Kolle. In the USA, there are; Frs. Etienne Khumbah and Wilfred Epie.
Those serving out of Buea Diocese are; Frs. Joseph Awoh and Joseph Bomnsa in Bamenda and Frs. Lucas Ngwa and Sebastian Fonsah in England.
The aforementioned appointments and transfers take effect from July 15 2013 for Educational Institutions and August 1 2013 for Parishes and Non Educational Institutions, states the Diocesan release.
