OHADA Is Now Twenty years in Existence

Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa known in its French acronym as OHADA celebrates twenty years of existence.
As preparations towards the celebrations a workshop was held at the OHADA Secretariat, in Yaounde to sight line the activities to be carried out.

Present at the workshop was Dorothe COSSI SOSSA, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, Professor Justine DIFFO TCHUNKAM of Abomey Calavi University, Benin, Professor Schouame Alexandre  Magloire president of the Centre for Research and Multimedia Documentation (CREDO) amongst others.
During the workshop, activities to celebrate the 20 years of existence were sight lined.

The event which is scheduled for the 22 to26 October 2013 at the Yaounde congress hall, under the patronage of the Prime Minister Philemon Yang who is also President of the Cameroon Business Forum (CBF). The event will be celebrated under the title The Cameroon OHADA Week.

To commemorate this event, CREDO has organized an OHADA Economic Forum and International Colloquium on the theme “OHADA Objectives and Sources.”

The forum will offer an atmosphere for legal practitioners, businessmen and economic operators to be vested with OHADA Laws for business interactions amongst member states.

CREDO has as a mission, to prevent legal and institutional risk, provide a competitive environment with authentic and up to date documentation and establishing a long term partnership with the intention to satisfy the need of customers.

CREDO is a private corporate body abiding by OHADA rules; it is a genuine training institution specialized in law and international development economics.

CREDO provides training in engineering, Basic and applied research, design and development of custom-tailored training programs, participant performance appraisal, identification of socio-professional opportunities

During the workshop a program drafted to mark the activities of the international conference was made known as follows,

On October 22, the conference will be based on OHADA at The Service of the Economy and of Businesses. The possibility to create value, protect and secure investment will be made known to the public.
On October 23, the conference will duel on OHADA Challenges and Prospects,
October 24 will be Business interaction day, Business to Business,
October 25 will be a workshop; research projects workshop and
October 26, OHADA Law; Economic And Legal Prospects.

At the end of the colloquium, businessmen, stakeholders, legal practitioners and law professionals will be expected to have a firm grip of opportunities provided by OHADA and the support it offers to the economy.

OHADA was founded in October 17, 1993 following the signing of a treaty on the harmonization of business law in Africa in Mauritius later.

Member states of OHADA are 17 French speaking African countries; Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic ,Congo ,Democratic Republic of Congo ,Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Benin, Burkina Faso Cape Verde, ivory Coast ,Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo.
