Becky Limunga Efoe, Director of the Intensive Vocational Training Centre, IVTC, Buea, has told graduates of the 36 batch of the institute to break the barriers between them and survival, while reiterating that vocational institutions are not for the weak.

get into the professional world, be determined and look at the future with optimism. “I enjoin all of you to build a strong vocational base in secretariat duties,” she noted.

According to Efoe, her graduates have been properly trained on vocational integration, health and safety, managing information systems, physical education, protocol and dress tips. “That is why our trainees (IVTC) were amongst the best results nationwide for the 2012/2013

academic year,” she added.

To her, this is the time for all the stakeholders; parents, sponsors and partners to enable IVTC accomplish it dreams, cautioning that no child with skills should be left behind. “We are gathered here to encourage our children individually and collectively, especially those who have worked hard,” she noted.

Vocational Training and You – Challenges and Opportunities, Fidelis Njie Ewumbue, Director, Bostal Institute, Buea said vocational training is no longer for the poor and drop outs but for those who are ready to meet the current challenges of development.

He saw in vocational training the opportunity to fight against underdevelopment, unemployment and poverty.

The colour-packed ceremony ended with the award of prizes to deserving and hard working graduates.

IVTC offers amongst others courses in Accounting, Secretaryship, Office Automation and Computerised Accounting.
