Republic of South Korea Strengthens Ties with Cameroon Government

Diplomatic relations between the republic of Cameroon and South Korea becomes more tight as Korea Standard Diagnosis donates 5000 kits of Rapid Diagnosis test Instruments  to the Ministry of Public Health.
The ceremony which took place, in the conference hall of the Ministry of Public Health, was attended by the Minister of Public Health H E Andre Mama Fouda, Ambassador of South Korea to Cameroon, H E June-Hyuck CHO, and Secretary General at the Ministry of Public Health. Professor Koulla-Shiro Sinata amongst others.

The aim of this donation is to support the Government of Cameroon to intensify her fight against Malaria, HIV/AIDS and Syphilis.
As of the moment, this new technology has been confirmed by the World Health Organization as a more efficient and faster way of diagnosing Malaria HIV/AIDS and Syphilis.  The new HIV/SYPHILIS DUO TEST can produce results within 15 minutes. Cameroon has been chosen by the World Health Organization to champion the fight against syphilis especially in pregnant women.

The company, Standard Diagnosis based in South Korea was created in 1999 and it is specialized in fabricating rapid diagnosis test instruments for sicknesses like Malaria, Syphilis and HIV. Standard Rapid Diagnosis is the first to produce such a rapid malaria test for Africa.

The Ambassador of South Korea H E June-Hyuck CHO expressed joy to be a part of the ceremony. He said, the donation of 5000 kits of Rapid Diagnosis Test Instrument is another opportunity to strengthen the long existing diplomatic relation between both countries.
According to the Ambassador, 20 million people die of HIV every year and so many others die of malaria in the world. He added that the gift will be of great help in the fight against malaria and HIV in Cameroon.

The Minister of Public Health Andre Mama Fouda, on his part reiterated that the 5000 kits have just come to remind both countries  of the already existing diplomatic relations. He added that with the test instruments, brighter days lie ahead.

These test instruments will be distributed to hospitals all over the country to serve its purpose.
