According to Chief Isaac Eko Nganje of Bokoko village, he could not have been indifferent to the proposal that water should constantly flow in Buea, so he gave up part of his land for the extension project.  “When the whole discussions started, I thought that it was a joke but today, it has come to fruition. We thank the government and CAMWATER for standing up to their promises and the challenges they had,” he said.

today; he does not regret the act. “The compensation for my action has come. I am happy for this gesture. Today, we have water in Buea. But I now have the responsibility to look out for a new house. I have to be level-headed and make good use of the money given to me,” he noted.

A development enthusiast, Josephine Ninjo, gladly gave up a piece of land she had bought just two months after, when CAMWATER came asking, for her to give up her property for the betterment of the entire nation. “My wish is that the

purpose they have taken my land for, should be used for it, so that we in Buea can bid farewell to the water crisis we have been going through for some time now,” she mentioned.

Representative of the GM of CAMWATER, Georges Elong Etonde described the action from CAMWATER as a republican gesture, adding that CAMWATER is a company that respects its engagements. “The population of Buea is happy with the work done out here by

The SDO for Fako, Zang III expressed glee that the government of Cameroon and CAMWATER are working in unison to respect their promises made to the affected individuals during the extension and renovation of the Buea water project. “We invite the beneficiaries to put the money into good use, especially at this festive period and all the activities that come with the end of year celebrations,” he advised.
