World Cup 2014: Cameroon Drawn In Group A, Paired Against Brazil

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will feature at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in Group A during the eliminatory phases. They will join host country, Brazil, Mexico and Croatia. The FIFA 2014 World Cup draws took place in a colourful ceremony in Costa Do Saupe, Brazil, Friday, December 6 2013 with FIFA Chair, Joseph Sepp Blatter presiding.

While the opening game has been slated for June 12 2014 at Sao Paulo, pitting Brazil against Croatia, the Indomitable Lions will get into action the next day, June 13 2014 with their opener against Latin American side, Mexico at Natal. Cameroonians will be back to the green turf on June 18 2014 in a match against Croatia and conclude their group matches on June 23 2014 against Brazil in Brazilia.

The other groups and their teams are; Spain, Holland, Chile and Australia for Group B. In Group C, there are; Columbia, Greece, Ivory Coast and Japan. Uruguay, Costa Rica, England and Italy make up Group D. In Group E, you will find France, Switzerland, Ecuador and Honduras. Group F is made up of Argentina, Iran, Nigeria and Bosnia Herzegovina. Group F has Germany, Ghana, USA and Portugal. In Group H there are; Belgium, Algeria, Russia and South Korea.

Many football enthusiasts have described the pairings as exciting, looking forward to great moments of world football, considering the big football names involved and would be surprises that may come up.

An official Cameroonian delegation of eight persons, led by the President of the NORMALISATION COMMITTEE of FECAFOOT, Prof. Joseph Owona is in Brazil to not only follow the draws but to look around for possible areas that may accommodate the Cameroonian team and other members of delegation that will make it to Brazil, the country of legendary footballer, Pele.
