Ebeny Amstrong; Tapez Tapez returns to Houston

The multi-talented Cameroon born Ebeny Amstrong is scheduled to make and encore performance in Houston, Texas at the Hotel Preet on Southwest Freeway on July 26, 2014. Ebeny’s return to H-town this time around is to be a part of the 13th Annual NOMA-USA Changing Lives through Technology Convention Gala.

iCameroon.com sat down with Ebeny Amstrong to catch on his goings and comings since last performance in Houston in late 2012 while he was promoting his second album titled Tapez Tapez.

Ebeny told this reporter that  he was in Houston as recently as last August 2013 in a cameo performance to support Houston based Cameroon born Alice Austin during the release party of her first album. Fresh from the studio with the release of his third album Fermez La Bouche and videos, Ebeny Amstrong recently made appearance on shows such as Behind The Hits on cneworld.tv, call-in radio shows overseas and performed at event and festivals. Ebeny’s music is loved by a wide range of fans; lovers of world music. He is sort after by Africans and non-African event organizers. Ebeny Amstrong feels at home on stage when performing; be it in a night club in Douala, at the African festival, Sweet Auburn in Atlanta, Tony Blair Faith Foundation or Coca-Cola Africa Foundation just where he made his return performance last week.

Last December he travelled to Cameroon on a promotional tour of the album, where he performed and made media rounds on local station such HiTv in Buea, DBS Douala, Canal 2 and other media outlets where his music is played. It was during one of stays in Douala in December that You Own Don Too Much video (a Makossa track) Fermez La Bouche was filmed.

Ebeny Amstrong’s return to Houston will be his first performance at a NOMA-USA gathering, although he is a regular at the MECA-USA Conventions. Ebeny Amstrong expressed that he has always wanted to perform at past NOMA-Conventions but his busy schedule often conflict with the convention time.  Amstrong added the previous Administrative Officer of NOMA, Sesekou Dr. Samuel Ashu is one of his supper fans.

Eben Amstrong (his legal name) is a dual career man. In addition to being a full time recording artist, he also the Biomedical Training & Technical Services Director with Atlanta based MedShare. A position which involves extensive travel to different countries for weeks and seven times a year. iCameroon.com and its readers are looking forward to learning what will be next from Ebeny Amstrong.
